Alpaca Farm Day History: The third annual National Alpaca Farm Day, on Saturday, September 26th, was another success. Many visitors came to the farm and brought a canned or packaged food for the Waterville Food Pantry. Our visitors came to our farm to meet our alpacas and learned more about these inquisitive and unique animals as well as about their luxurious fiber and the many clothing products, yarn and toys we sell in our farm store. Hand spinners bought fleece that day also to spin into beautiful yarn. The "name the baby/cria" event drew many interesting suggestions and we appreciate all the creative names that our visitors took the time to submit. A difficult decision, we finally chose "Blanquito." Thanks again to all our visitors who participated in the naming event. Some of the suggestions were so good, we've kept them to use on the next round of crias next year.
